IN THE DARK ABOUT LOADSHEDDING

We are in the dark about Loadshedding currently underway in KAE. Eskom announced that it will implement Stage 2 loadshedding from 21:00 this evening until 08:00 tomorrow morning. The announcement was made at 18:21.

However, prior to the announcement being made. Kaalfontein, Allandale, Ebony Park and Ivory Park lights switched off. The power outage occured at 17:00. The outage caught us by surprise as they was no schedule announcement. We always ensure that we are updated of incoming Loadshedding so as to inform our readers beforehand.

We found this peculiar as the Power Utility announced that Loadshedding will commence at 21:00 but we have been without power 4 hours earlier. Upon enquiring with City Power and Eskom at 18:23 via our Twitter Account. Eskom replied “Eskom is currently not loadshedding. It may be a localised outage. Please report it to your service provider.”

City Power has not responded at the time of publishing. We are uncertain when the power will be restored.

UPDATE: City Power has announced the schedule for the overnight Loadshedding. KAE to experience Loadshedding from 04:00 to 08:30 (again?).
