ORACLE AND IVORY PARK SECONDARY LATEST SCHOOLS TO HAVE COVID-19 CONFIRMED CASES
Today, we sadly report that there’s been confirmed cases of Coronavirus at Ponelopele Oracle Secondary School in Kaalfontein and Ivory Park Secondary School in Ivory Park.
A learner tested positive at Oracle and an educator tested positive at the Ivory Park Secondary School. Both the schools have been closed for decontamination and will resume with learning on Monday, 13 July 2020.
The schools join a growing list of schools that have had to close due to confirmed cases of coronavirus in KAE and surrounding areas. Other schools include Tsosolotso Ya Afrika Secondary School, Drake Koka Primary School, Ebony Park Primary School, Umqhele Comprehensive School, Rebonwe Primary School and JB Matabane Secondary School.
Gauteng MEC of Education, Panyaza Lesufi said that parents can choose the home education option and they should apply on the Gauteng Education Department website and they would receive a response within seven days.
“Our remote education programmes include learning topics, summarising of topics, step-by-step guidelines for tutoring, assessment task memorandum.” Lesufi added.
