MIDRAND LICENSING DEPARTMENT ROBBED

At about 22:00 on Wednesday, 2 September 2020, a group of about 10 men forcefully entered the premises of the Midrand Licencing Department at the Corner of Dale Road and Rainbow Street.

Most of them carried firearms and proceeded to tie up two security guards who were on duty, using shoe laces.

The suspects then proceeded to the building and entered the building through the toilet window which was not closed. Once inside they took more than 4000 Face Value documents and left the building.

They used a grinder to open the safe where the Face Value documents were stored. No cash was stolen.

Police arrived and took fingerprints. Case 48/09/2020 has been opened with the Ivory Park Police Station.

The cameras in the building could not be viewed as they could not be opened.
