COUPLE BUSTED WITH DRUGS IN EBONY PARK

A male and female couple aged 25 and 29 were arrested following a stop and search operation at Ebony Park next to Busy Corner.

The arrest was thanks to an Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) crime prevention operation led by multiple task forces, between 7am and 8pm on Wednesday, 23 September 2020.

The couple was stopped and searched driving a green Ford Figo. “Officers uncovered 465 sachets of nyaope, 45 pieces of rock, 55 pieces of crystal meth and 5 kilograms of dagga valued at R25,000 along with cash stockpiled between door panels. The pair was marched to the Ivory Park Police Station” said Spokesperson for EMPD Kobeli Mokheseng.

The arrested couple will soon appear at the Tembisa Magistrates Court to answer to charges of possible dealing in illicit drugs.
