MEET THE FUTURE SOUTH AFRICAN COACH

Sports- Who said soccer coaches should only be male? Meet the current coach of Africa Bright Birds FC Mpho Kekana from Ivory Park Extension Extension 8.

Ms. Mpho Kekana coaches under 13 and Under 15s in Ivory Park. Fresh from winning her 1st league recently. She will be playing her final league games for both under 13 and 15s this Saturday the 7th September 2019 at Ivory Park ema 15.

Mpho is a hard working youth developer and football coach at Africa Bright Birds FC. The 26 year old has been a football fan all her life and is a supporter of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) current log leaders, Kaizer Chiefs FC.

She says “I came into coaching when me and my two friends decided to start a football club to try and give the youth at Ivory Park a better chance away from smoking, doing drugs and consuming alcohol”

She wants to see herself one day coaching the men’s (Bafana Bafana) or the women’s (Banyana Banyana) South African National Soccer Teams but firstly she wants to have a strong foundation and that would entail leading Africa Bright Birds FC from Local Footbal to the Premier Soccer League.
