KAALFONTEIN PRIMARY SCHOOL AMONGST BEST SCHOLAR PATROLLERS

Roodeport- Kaalfontein Primary School students were chosen as one of the best school patrollers in Johannesburg.

The school was amongst the schools awarded today the 5th of September 2019. Other schools that got awards were Esparanza Primary School, Ekukhayiseni Primary School, Emfundisweni Primary School and Noordgesig Primary School.

The Scholar Patrol function acknowledged 4000 learners from Johannesburg for their duties as scholar patrol members and helping other children cross busy roads. The function was held at Ruimsig Stadium in Roodeport.

The Ruimsig Ward Councilor, Mr Rolf Bitkau said every year there’s a significant number of accidents and scholar patrollers played a vital role in ensuring that kids stay safe.

Acting Chief of the Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) Mathonza Kgaswane said scholar patrollers prevent fatalities and injuries on the roads. He added that scholar patrollers are like police officers risking their lives.
