FOUR MEN ARRESTED FOR MOB RELATED MURDERS IN KAALFONTEIN
Local Detectives have arrested four men in Kaalfontein for alleged kidnapping and subsequent murders of three men accused of a spate of crimes committed in the area.
The four, whose ages range from 28 to 59, were picked up at their homes after they were pointed out by a witness present when they picked one of the victims.
“The victims, who are being alleged to be responsible for a spate of crimes in the area, were badly beaten with sjamboks.
“They all succumbed to their injuries at the scene, notwithstanding the best efforts by the paramedics to assist two of them, who were still alive.” said Captain Ben Matimulane, the spokesperson of Ivory Park SAPS.
The Station Commander of the Ivory Park SAPS, Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, has welcomed his officers’ swift response in effecting the arrests.
Brigadier Ngcobo, who was at the scene as soon as he was informed about the incident, condemned these brutal murders, and has called on the community to desist from taking the law into their own hands.
“If these victims were as guilty of crimes they have been accused of, what prevented these suspects from working with the police through the already existing structures to arrest and bring them to justice,” said Brigadier Ngcobo.
The four will be charged with murder and are expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court as early as this week to answer to charges levelled at them.
According to the Ivory Park SAPS, further arrests cannot be ruled out.
