The MEC for Health in Gauteng, Dr Nomathemba Mokgethi visited the home of slain Assistant Nurse of Tembisa Hospital, Lebo Monene on Wednesday afternoon in Ebony Park.

Lebo Monene was tragically gunned down with seven (7) shots by her ex-boyfriend at the Tembisa Hospital on Wednesday morning.

The 30-year old police officer entered the hospital driving a state vehicle with blue lights on and parked at the Accident and Emergency Department’s parking lot. The man then sent someone to call Monene who was on duty. Upon arrival, the police officer shot Monene before turning the gun on himself.

Monene died on the scene while he was airlifted to Milpark Hospital where he is receiving care. He remains in a critical condition as he shot himself in the head.
