POLICE ON AN AWARENESS CAMPAIGN IN CLAYVILLE AND KAALFONTEIN
Social Crime Prevention Desk team at the Ivory Park SAPS have today, Tuesday 19 July 2022, embarked on a door to door campaign aimed at creating awareness on the serious problems of drug abuse and domestic violence.
The officers visited the community of Clayville Extension 45 and Kaalfontein Extension 22 to speak to the people on this two problematic issues.
The Ivory Park policing precinct is rife with drug abuse and gender based violence and, as part of the campaign, the community was encouraged to report gender based violence and to give tip offs to the police about drug dealers in their neighbourhoods.
This, the officers added, can be done on an anonymous basis and callers are not obliged to reveal their identities.
The officers assured the community that the police station is open 24 hours for them to report any form of abuse. Furthermore they urged neighbours and those that live nearby the victims to report as some victims tend to protect the perpetrators at their expense
Both gender based violence and tip offs on drug dealing or even crime in general can be reported at the nearest police station or police’s emergency number which is 08600 10111.
And any member of the public with questions on any of the above mentioned issues can contact our crime prevention desk at the Ivory Park SAPS on (011) 990-9600.
