AMAPANYAZA MAKE ARRESTS IN TEMBISA

In a collaborative effort involving the Gauteng Traffic Police, SAPS, and Crime Prevention Wardens also known as “AmaPanyaza“, a multi-disciplinary operation in Tembisa resulted in significant arrests related to copper and cable theft, as well as other criminal activities. This operation showcases the effectiveness of joint efforts in combating crime in the community.

During the operation, two Egyptian nationals were apprehended for their involvement in various illicit activities.

Firstly, a 22-year-old Egyptian male was detained for the theft of copper, along with charges of threatening officers and resisting arrest. Additionally, a 35-year-old Egyptian male was arrested for money laundering, resisting arrest, possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle, and the discovery of an undisclosed sum of money.

The arrests were made in Tembisa and the suspects are behind bars at the Tembisa South Police Station. The suspects are expected to appear before the Tembisa Magistrates Court soon.

The successful arrests highlight the determination of law enforcement agencies, including the recently appointed Crime Prevention Wardens, to combat copper and cable theft, which has been a prevalent concern in the area.
