Festive Season is a time when many South Africans travel back home. Most people live in Gauteng for work reasons and leave for the homelands in Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape, North West, Mpumalanga In December.
Naturally, the National and Provincial Roads leading to these places are most busy during the festive season of December. Consequently, it is in this time that most accidents occur in our roads.
Last year, there were 1,612 deaths on South African roads during the festive season. The death toll is from December 1 2018 until January 8 2019.
