274 ARRESTED IN TEMBISA AS PART OF OPERATION O KAE MOLAO

Operation O Kae Molao, which aims to stamp the authority of the State and reduce levels of crime in Gauteng Province continues to yield positive results.

The Operation is conducted simultaneously throughout the province and this weekend it saw over one thousand suspects being arrested for various crimes and 274 of those arrested in Tembisa.

Provincial Commissioner of Gauteng, Lieutenant General Elias Mawela led the multidisciplinary Operation from Tembisa Police Station.

The Operation resulted in the arrest of 274 people and confiscation of alcohol, drugs and five vehicles of which their engines were tempered with and one of them was a suspected hijacked vehicle.

Traffic fines to the value of R12 650,00 were also issued for non-compliance of the Road Traffic Management Act.

All arrested suspects are expected to appear before the Tembisa Magistrates’ Court soon.

Lieutenant General Mawela applauded all the stakeholders involved for their efforts and continued commitment in ensuring that criminal activities are minimised in the province. The community is encouraged to report any forms of criminal activities at the Crime Stop Line 08600 10111
