Today, the 18th of March 2020, members of the police service in Tembisa were welcomed to the rank of sergeant. The Tembisa SAPS Station Commander, Brigadier Frank Mthombeni congratulated the newly promoted sergeants.

The 60 members of the Tembisa South African Police Service (SAPS) were promoted from a rank of Constable to Sergeant. Brigadier Mthombeni reminded the members that he was also a Sergeant once upon a time and could relate how proud he was when given the big rank.

“On that day, I didn’t ride a train but walked home so that everyone could see that I am now a Sergeant” he related. He further told members that he fell in love with the police when he was young and used to imitate his cousin brother who was a Sergeant.

“For you to be hear today, it means that you have been loyal to the organization and please keep it up. The discipline and integrity will take you a long way. You need not set a boundary for your success, go an extra stride and reach the sky”, he motivated the new sergeants.
