Ivory Park– Every year on the 17th of October, South Africa celebrates National Medicinal Emergency Day. Carewell EMS, a black-owned private Medical Emergency Service provider from Midrand honored the day by doing an awareness campaign at Ivory Park Primary School.
The pupils were excited to see Skeem Saam characters Noah real name Austin Rethabile Mothapo and Koloi which is played by Tshepo Joseph Senatle.
It was a wonderful and very informative day for the pupils at Ivory Park. Carewell EMS taught the children about safety tips, how to call an ambulance in the event of an emergency and how to perform Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Furthermore, the children were also taught what to do in the event of a fire and evacuation procedure.
The kids are now better equipped to save a life in case of an emergency. Mr. Thabi Langa the Public Relations Officer of Carewell EMS said “on this National Emergency Day we believe that we need to teach our kids how to do CPR and how to call an ambulance. We believe nowadays there’s high volumes of violence at schools. When our learners have knowledge we taught them today they can can be able to save a fellow student “.
