A BRIGHTER KAALFONTEIN AND EBONY PARK THANKS TO COUNCILLOR SUPE

In Kaalfontein and Ebony Park, Ward 111 Councillor Priscilla Supe is doing amazing work to assist with repairing and replacing broken transformers and bringing back electricity to the people.

Just this year, she has managed to assist with 46 out of 48 failed transformers with the help of Eskom, the power company.

On Thursday, 09 November, the community of Ebony park Extension 2 got electricity back after four (4) long months without it. Councillor Supe has been working hard to make this happen, and her efforts are making a big difference for the people she represents.

Fixing the transformers wasn’t easy, the transformer in Extension 2 exploded on the 6th July, and Eskom did audits on the 15th September. Fines were issued to households that had not consistently bought electricity from legal vendors. The community paid 80% of the fines and receipts were sent to Eskom on the 2nd October. Finally, on the 9th November, the new transformer was installed.

The only outstanding transformers are in Ebony Park Ext. 4 and Kaalfontein Ext. 7B.

Councillor Supe is hopeful that everyone in Ward 111 will have a bright Christmas with lights on. Her hard work shows how much she cares about the people she helps in Kaalfontein and Ebony Park.
