AMBULANCES AT THE EBONY CLINIC

Last week we reported that the Ebony Park-Kaalfontein Clinic opening has been postponed https://kaenews.co.za/blog/opening-of-ebony-park-kaalfontein-clinic-postponed-again/community/

According to the Councilor of Ward 111, Raisibe Matsemela the delay in opening of the health facility is due to the water pump that pumps water to the clinic not being operational.

Furthermore, a ‘final consultation’ meeting is to take place with the community and stakeholders.

KAE News can confirm that a total of 3 ambulances have been stationed in the clinic since the beginning of the year. We understand that the clinic is ‘hybrid’. This means that it is run by the Municipality (City of Johannesburg) together with the Province (Gauteng).

The Ambulance are under the provincial competency. In case of an emergency, Community members can summon an ambulance by calling 10177 or 112. In the interim while the clinic is closed, patients are transported to Thuthukani Clinic or Tembisa Hospital.
