Tembisa South members received a complaint of concealment of birth in the river between Vusimuzi informal settlement and Isiphethweni section, Tembisa during a clean up campaign.
“On arrival the police were shown a transparent plastic next to it was a towel placed on top on a stone inside the river. It is alleged that one of the people cleaning the stream saw a transparent plastic laying on top a stone as he was busy cleaning he was caught by surprise when he discovered that the plastic had a foetus which had all full body parts” said Constable Bridget Mavuso, the spokesperson of the Tembisa SAPS.
The foetus was taken to Germiston mortuary and police have opened a case of Concealment of Birth. The police investigation continues.
This comes after a foetus was found in Ebony Park on Thursday and a baby estimated to be 9 months old was found at an illegal dumping site in Kaalfontein on Thursday.
