BABY GOMOLEMO LAID TO REST
Gomolemo Mavimbela, a 9-year-old girl from Tembisa in Gauteng, was laid to rest at Mooifontein Cemetery on Saturday, 9th November 2024.
The funeral service, held at Forth Mission Church in Maokeng, was attended by mourners bidding a heartfelt farewell.
Tragically, Gomolemo lost her life in an accident on Andrew Mapheto Drive on 30th October 2024 while traveling to Edleen Primary School with her mother and a 13-year-old neighbor.
The vehicle they were in collided with another vehicle driven by Shaune Mogaila, a player from Sekhukhune United, who veered into the opposite lane.
Gomolemo’s mother is currently hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit, unaware of her daughter’s passing.
The 13-year-old boy is also receiving treatment at the same hospital.
Mogaila was arrested and subsequently granted bail of R20,000 by the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court.
The case has been adjourned to February 4, 2025.
Mogaila has been charged with reckless driving, fleeing the scene, and culpable homicide following the discovery of alcohol bottles and suspected drugs in his vehicle by authorities.
Initially, he fled the scene but later surrendered to the police.
