Today the 15th of January 2020 marks the first day of the academic year. Current situation in Ebony Park Primary School: parents have been sent back by the school due to incapacity.
The school in Ebony Park, Bouganvilla Street is full. According to the Principal of the School, Mam’ Selowa there’s only space for TshiVenda learners available.
Meanwhile in Kaalfontein, KAE’s top performing school, Ponelopele Oracle Secondary School is being used as the main source for Late Registration for Secondary Schools in KAE surrounding areas. A meeting is currently being held with parents.
Further north in Kaalfontein, Mr Mazwi the Principal of Sedi Laka Primary School advised KAE News that Grade R is full. Mr Mazwi added that other grades are accommodating learners and by Friday the school will be in a position to determine which Grades can still take in learners as they will have an idea of the statistics.
Parents are advised to visit Bonwelong Primary School in Ivory Park for late registration for Primary Schools and Oracle for Secondary Schools. Officials from the District are stationed at the respective schools.
Late registration has opened today and will officially close next week Friday, the 24th of January 2020.
The Economic Freedom Fighters(EFF) of Ward 111 led by the Branch Secretary Thabo Manyengisa are stationed at the Ponelopele Oracle Secondary School. The EFF have committed to help parents and children with registration. “All children must be at school and no child must be sent back. This is a National program of the EFF that has been adopted in the ward” said PR Councilor Mnisi.
