BAKKIE HIJACKED IN IVORY PARK RECOVERED IN BEDFORDVIEW
Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) spokesperson, Xolani Fihla, said officers arrested two suspects and recovered three weapons after a car chase which started in Malvern and ended in Bedfordview.
Fihla said JMPD officers were responding to a complaint of a White Isuzu KB 250 which was hijacked in Ivory Park. With assistance of Car Track “Officers tracked the vehicle and attempted to stop the vehicle but the suspects sped off, refusing to stop”.
After the car chase, the vehicle rolled over when the suspects ignored a red a traffic light and lost control. Once the vehicle had rolled, JMPD K9 officers arrested two suspects and found three firearms, a knife and cellphones. A third suspect managed to escape.
The suspects were detained at Bedfordview SAPS for armed hijacking, possession of unlicensed firearm and dangerous weapon.
