BUSINESS ROBBERY AT MAYIBUYE

It is alleged by the Complainant, a 30 year old cashier at Nkosi Hyper Supermarket, Mayibuye, that on Sunday 26 June 2022 at about 16:30 she was at her work place mentioned.

As she was busy servicing customers as a cashier, a group of armed males entered the shop and held them hostage. Suspects ordered all the people inside the shop to co-operate with them or “they will shoot and kill them”.

The suspects ordered the shop managers to open the till and they took an undisclosed amount of money from two tills. Other tills were closed resulting in one of the managers to be assaulted on the head with the back of a firearm.

Suspects took cellphone from employees and customers and left. No shots were fired, the injured manager was taken to hospital for treatment.

“The police are appealing from members of the community who may have any information to come forward. You can give a tip to 08600 10111. Your identity will never be revealed to anyone.” said Sergeant Dipolelo Moremi of Rabie Ridge SAPS.
