CELE VISITS FAMILY OF SLAIN COP
The Minister of Police, Bheki Cele, visited the home of Sergeant Mogale who was gunned down on Thursday afternoon, 26 August 2021 to offer condolences to the family.
Cele visited the homes of Sergeant Mogale and her partner Sergeant Petje on Friday morning.
As women’s month comes to a close, the two female police officers were attacked and disarmed in Esangweni, Tembisa by unknown suspects inside a shop.
The suspects shot Officer Mogale in the head before making off with her service pistol. Petje was not injured in the attack.
Sergeant Mogale leaves behind her husband and three young children. The deceased was an active member of the community who loved children. She was stationed at Tembisa South Police Station.
Minister Cele called for the SAPS to leave no stone unturned in finding the killers of Sgt Mogale.
“It doesn’t give comfort that one of us survived. What will give comfort is to find these guys (killers) as instructed” said a visibly distraught Cele to members of the media outside the home of Sergeant Mogale.
