The Gauteng Department of Education made delivery of 500 chairs each at Kaalfontein Secondary School and David Makhubo Secondary School in Kaalfontein on Friday, 13 May 2022.
This will go a long way in assisting learners concentrate in class. Not much learning was done at local schools this week.
Protest action started at Eqinisweni Secondary School on Monday. The Gauteng Department of Education delivered chairs and desks in that school on Tuesday.
Learners from David Makhubo, Kaalfontein Secondary, Umqhele Secondary, JB Matabane and Ponelopele Oracle Secondary School took to the streets this week to protest about the lack of chairs in the schools.
The protest action turned violent on Thursday leaving two (2) learners wounded by rocks and left windows at Eqinisweni Secondary School broken.
Normal learning is expected to resume on Monday, 16 May 2022.
