CITY OF JOHANNESBURG KICKSTARTS 120 DAYS OF SERVICE DELIVERY IN IVORY PARK

The City of Johannesburg (CoJ) Metropolitan Municipality launched “120 Days of Service Delivery “ in Region A on Tuesday , 06 April 2021. Region A includes areas such as Kaalfontein, Allandale, Ebony Park (KAE), Rabie Ridge and Ivory Park.

The areas are sometimes referred to as Greater Ivory Park. Greater Ivory Park forms part of previously marginalised areas, which experience a number of recurring service delivery issues.

City employees from different entities such as Pikitup, Johannesburg Roads Agency, Johannesburg City Parks & Zoo (JCPZ) will be focusing on the Greater Ivory Park area from 6 April until 16 April 2021.

In addition, The Executive Mayor, Geoff Makhubo and various Members of the Mayoral Committee (MMCs) will attend the activities in Region A next week, from 13 to 16 April.

Tuesday saw clearing of silts in Ivory Park Ext 2, patching of the road, reinstating of the paving near the Ivory Park Taxi Rank and repainting of road markings at the Eqinisweni Secondary School amongst other service delivery activities.

Issues to be targeted going forward will also include Potholes, Illegal Dumping, Storm Water, Gravel Roads, Resurfacing of Roads, Grass Cutting, Sewer spillage and blockages of pipes.

Activities will culminate is JCPZ planting 1000 trees in an hour with the aim of reducing air and noise pollution generated by high traffic volumes on New Road and surrounding areas in Midrand on the 16th of April 2021.
