There’s confirmed cases of COVID-19 at Rebonwe Primary School in Ivory Park. Two educators at the school tested positive for coronavirus .
It is understood that the Principal of the school refuses to close the school and decontaminate the school as per the government’s regulations and directives.
A staff member at the school told KAE News that “we are told to continue working as normal without disinfecting the staff room, we are scared for our lives but the principal doesn’t care. Please help us.”
The story is still developing and we will advise on the closure or open of the school this morning, 7 July 2020.
Meanwhile in KAE and surrounding areas, schools that have had confirmed cases of the deadly virus include Ebony Park Primary School, Drake Koka and JB Matabane. This comes as Grade 6s and Grade Rs are expected to return to school this week.
