CRIME STATS: 95 MURDERS AND ATTEMPTED MURDERS IN 3 MONTHS IN IVORY PARK

The latest crime statistics released by Minister of Police, Senzo Mchunu, on Friday, 21 February 2025, paint a grim picture of violent crime in South Africa.

Covering the period from October to December 2024, the statistics reveal that 6,953 people were murdered across the country. Gauteng accounted for 1,741 of those murders, making it the province with the highest number of recorded killings.

Ivory Park Police Station recorded a total of 45 murders in the three-month period, placing it 16th in the country and 3rd in Gauteng for the highest number of murders.

This figure represents a decrease of four cases compared to the same period the previous year. The policing precinct of Ivory Park covers Ivory Park, Kaalfontein, Allandale, Ebony Park, Tswelelope, and the new Clayville, making it one of the busiest precincts in Gauteng.
