ESKOM RESTORES ELECTRICITY IN PARTS OF IVORY PARK

The community of Ivory Park can breathe a sigh of relief as their electricity has been restored. This morning , 18 August 2020, Eskom Distributor vans patrolled Ivory Park and the Thuthukani Sub Station to asses the failed electricity infrastructure.

Eskom officials were escorted by members of the SAPS (police) and SANDF (soldiers). Parts of Ivory Park in Ward 79 have been restored. However, it is still unclear when the power utility will replace failed transformers in Ivory Park, Kaalfontein, Allandale and Ebony Park.

Meanwhile, Eskom has advised that the power system is severely constrained as a result of generation unit break does and clod front. Any further deterioration in the generation performance may therefore necessitate the implementation of load shedding at short notice.
