ESKOM TO IMPLEMENT LOAD SHEDDING FROM 12:00

Eskom will implement Stage 2 Load Shedding from 12:00 to 22:00 today, 10 July 2020.

The Power Utility says that it will implement Stage 2 loadshedding starting at 12:00. This will continue until 22:00. The loadshedding has been caused by an increase in plant breakdowns exceeding 3 000MW of capacity.

Eskom’s would like to plead with the community to use the electric sparingly to minimize loadshedding. Loadshedding will be implemented throughout the weekend if the constrained supply situation persists.

Residents are furthermore urged to reduce electricity usage between 16:00 to 22:00 to assist in limiting the implementation of loadshedding.

While loadshedding is implemented, load reduction will not be implemented. Load reduction only affects areas with incidents of illegal connection, meter bypassing and overloading whilst loadshedding affects the entire country.

Kaalfontein, Allandale, Ebony Park (KAE) and surrounding areas will not be affected by today’s Stage 2 loadshedding.
