ESKOM TO REDUCE LOADSHEDDING FROM 4 HOURS TO 2 HOURS

Eskom in Gauteng will from tomorrow, Tuesday 19 January 2021, implement loadshedding for two hours in most of its areas of supply.

Eskom says that the move from four to two hours of loadshedding is aimed at addressing the unintended consequences that come with the longer supply interruptions, particularly during the resurgence of COVID-19.

“Electricity users are advised to always check with their supplier should loadshedding exceed the two hours.” said the Power Utility in a statement.

Kaalfontein, Allandale, Ebony Park, Ivory Park and surrounding areas will be affected by the new change.

Eskom says that “the supply of electricity remains key as an essential service to health facilities and other strategic role players that are critical in the fight against the Coronavirus.”

KAE News will give further updates as and when they become available. No loadshedding is expected today, 18 January 2021.
