FAMILY REFUSING TO BE QUARANTINED CAUGHT BY POLICE

The Gauteng Department of Health is pleading with members of the public to cooperate with health care workers during this difficult period of dealing with COVID-19 (Corona Virus)

In a statement issued by the department today it said that a family refused to be quarantined. The wife and daughter tested positive to the virus while the husband refused to be tested and left hospital without swabs being taken.

The Department approached the court last night on an urgent basis to ensure that constitutional rights of the patients are not infringed without a court order. The court Order in favor of the department was granted at 01:00 this morning.

As a result, the matter was reported to the police to trace and apprehend the family. The family was found this afternoon and is being held at a designated facility.
