SASSA GRANT PAYMENT DATES

SASSA GRANT PAYMENT DATES for May 2023.

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) grant payment dates for the month of May 2023 are as follows:

OLDER PERSONS GRANT (R2080 to R2100) will be paid from Thursday, 04 May 2023. Old age pension – people over 60 years old, who meet the means test.

DISABILITY GRANT will be paid from Friday, 05 May 203. For people with a physical or mental disability who cannot work for 6 or more months.

All other grants mentioned below will be paid from Monday, 08 May 2023:

SRD GRANT (COVID-19 R350 GRANT) For South African Citizens/ Refugees/ Asylum Seekers/ Special Permit Holders who do not have sufficient means to support themselves.
CHILD SUPPORT GRANT (R500) For the primary care giver of a child under the age of 18, from low income households, who need financial assistance to help take care of a child.
CARE DEPENDENCY GRANT (R2080) For parents, foster parents, or primary care- giver of a child under the age of 18, who requires full-time care due to a mental or physical disability.
FOSTER CHILD GRANT (R1120) Foster parent (by a valid court order) of a child under the age of 18.
GRANT-IN-AID (R500) For current grant holders who cannot care for themselves and need to pay someone to care for them full-time.
WAR VETERANS GRANT (R2100) For former soldiers who fought in the Second World War or the Korean War and are unable to support themselves.

Grant recipients are reminded that there is not need to rush to withdraw on the first day. Once the money is in the account it will remain there until it is needed.
