HOUSE ROBBERY SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN MIDRAND
A joint intelligence-driven operation led to the arrest of three suspects who are believed to be involved in a spate of house robbery and house burglaries in Gauteng.
The suspects were arrested in Midrand on Monday, 28 October 2024, after they were found with suspected stolen property and house breaking implements.
Police’s Crime Intelligence received information about suspects who are involved in committing house robberies and house burglaries around Gauteng Province. Further information was that the suspects will be in Douglasdale on Monday, 28 October 2024.
The team that consists of various law enforcement agencies that include SAPS Counter Intelligence Investigations, SAPS Johannesburg K9, SAPS Gauteng Tactical Response Team, SAPS Tracking Team, Gauteng Traffic Police Airwing, CAP Specialised Operations, and Tracker Connect were placed into various strategic positions and on the lookout for the suspects.
The team spotted the vehicle that matched the description given, moving towards Kyalami in Midrand. The vehicle was stopped, but the driver accelerated, and high-speed chase ensued. The suspect’s vehicle came to a halt. Three suspects were apprehended. In their possession, the police found multiple laptops, electronic items, and breaking implements. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects had just committed two house burglaries in Douglasdale.
All three suspects were arrested, and the vehicle they were driving, Suzuki Ertiga, was also seized as it was used during the commission of crime.
Suspects might be linked to various robberies and house burglaries committed around Gauteng.
