The African National Congress (ANC) Ward 133 branch, known as the President General OR Tambo Branch in Ivory Park, has been honored with the prestigious Sol Plaatjie Award, securing joint 3rd place as one of the best-performing branches in the country.
The award was presented to the branch’s Deputy Secretary, Agrineth Maake, by ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa during the ANC’s 113th Anniversary celebration on January 11, 2023, in Cape Town.
Led by Chairperson Teboho Marumo, who is also the Ward Councillor, alongside Branch Secretary Bongani Sibisi and the Branch Executive Committee (BEC) collective, the President General OR Tambo Branch has been commended for its exemplary work in community service, effective campaigns, branch functionality, and electoral performance.
The award, signed by ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula, highlights the branch’s significant contributions to the ANC’s mission and community development.
Following the recognition, the Branch Executive Committee convened a meeting to reflect on the honor, express gratitude, and plan a celebration to mark this monumental achievement.
