The Ivory Park Policing precinct recorded the highest number of rapes and sexual offences in Gauteng.
The station covers Ivory Park, Kaalfontein, Allandale, Ebony Park, Tswelelope, and the new Clayville.
A shocking 61 rapes were reported at the station between October and December 2024, marking an increase of 15 cases compared to the previous year.

According to the data released by Minister Senzo Mchunu, rape cases are mostly perpetrated by people known to the victims. T
The locations where rapes occurred in South Africainclude:
- Residences of victims/perpetrators: 5,711 cases**
- Public places (streets, parks, etc.):1,898 cases
- Abandoned buildings: 114 cases
- Liquor outlets (shebeens, taverns, nightclubs): 100 cases
Alcohol and Crime Connection
Liquor is a major contributing factor to rape, with over 10,000 cases alcohol-related.
Confirmed incidents at liquor outlets include:
- 4,550 cases of assault GBH
- 100 rapes
- 347 attempted murders
- 244 murders
A concerning trend is emerging, with 74 rapes occurring at schools across South Africa.
In addition, sexual assaults are on the rise, with 10 cases recorded in Ivory Park in just three months.
