IVORY PARK POLICE APPEAL FOR PULIC ASSISTANCE IN IDENTIFYING BODY
Ivory Park SAPS police officers are asking for assistance from the community in identifying the man whose body was found lying in an open veld in Ebony Park, Midrand on Monday.
The badly beaten man was found by passers-by, who then alerted the police.
One thing that was clear to the police was that the victim, who is in his 20s, may have been assaulted and murdered elsewhere and eventually dumped at the spot he was found at, in Ebony Park next to the corners of Republic Road and Boshoff Street.
“Any family whose loved one has not been seen in the past day or so is called upon to get in touch with the Ivory Park SAPS to ascertain if the deceased may be their family member or not. “ said the Ivory Park SAPS Spokesperson, Captain Ben Matimulane said.
At the time he was found, the victim was wearing blue jeans, and a blue shirt and had not shoes on. He had been badly beaten, with what looks like sjamboks and stones.
While the police are still awaiting for the return of the fingerprints, which have been taken for identification, the police are appealing for any member of the community to come forward by contacting the Ivory Park SAPS on 011 990 9600, or the investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Thabo Dibete on 073 693 7189
