The long awaited and highly anticipated construction of the swimming pool in Ivory Park looks set to kick start.
The pool has been long over due and was expected to be complete in November 2017. The MMC for Finance in the City of Johannesburg Clr Funzela Ngobeni reaffirmed the swimming pool plans in 2019/20 budget vote on the 22nd of May this year when he said “Amongst others, the Community Development Department’s three-year capital allocation of R321 million will be utilised for the construction of multipurpose centres in Lehae, Matholesville, Kaalfontein and Drieziek.
We will also construct swimming pools for the communities in Cosmo City and Ivory Park.”
The Johannesburg Development Agency (JDA) has invited the community of Ward 111 to SMME briefing to be held tomorrow the 15th of August 2019 at the swimming pool site camp in Ivory Park.
