Real name Bongane Shiba, Jimmy Landrose is an up and coming rapper based in Kaalfontein that will shake up the rap game soon. We are so confident of this statement that we say it without a bit of doubt. Jimmy is so talented that the music industry will start taking notice.
We came across the rapper’s work when someone sent one of his dope songs to our inbox. The song is titled “The New National Anthem”. Landrose can be heard effortlessly rapping in multiple South African languages. He kicks off with English, then he switches to his mother tougue of IsiZulu. Jimmy also raps in SeSotho, TshiVenda, IsiXhosa, XiTsonga and even Afrikaans!
Jimmy started rapping in 2010 and has not looked back ever since. He’s been dropping freestyle after freestyle and recently released an EP titled “Thank You”. The boy’s hard work, pure talent and dope skills will soon pay off.
Born in Tembisa, Esangweni he moved to Kaalfontein around the year 2000. In Kaalfontein, he attended Kaalfontein Primary School and KAE’s top school according to 2019 Matric results, Ponelopele Oracle Secondary School.
When asked about his writing process he said “My writing process usually depends on how I’m feeling. Sometimes lyrics come naturally . For example, when I’m busy doing house chores, sometimes a song will start playing in my head and a few lines come to mind. I just follow the thought and continue writing with the current idea.
Sometimes I just start from scratch and express my emotions through lyrics. “
