KAALSPRUIT RIVER CLEAN-UP TO CELEBRATE GLOBAL RECYCLING & WATER WEEK
The MMC for Environment and Infrastructure Services Department (EISD) Cllr Mpho Moerane will tomorrow, 18 March 2021 join the City of Johannesburg waste management company Pikitup in a clean-up and water preservation campaign to celebrate Global Recycling and Water Week.
The celebration of the Global Recycling and Water Week seeks to create awareness and encourage residents to recycle and preserve scare resources such as water and a healthy environment for future generations.
Tomorrow’s activities will include the clean-up of the Kaalspruit River and the picking up of recyclable waste in ward 111, for recycling purposes.
The activities will also include undertaking of education and awareness sessions with local residents to raise awareness about the importance of recycling and preserving water.
The event will start in the morning at 08:00 and meeting point is the Thuthukani Centre, 1174 Freedom Drive, Ivory Park.
