KAE COMMUNITY TAKES TO THE STREETS

Ebony Park- Today the 19th of September 2019 community members of Ward 111 which is Kaalfontein, Allandale and Ebony Park held a peaceful march to voice out there grievances against the developers of the soon to be opened Ebony Park Mall.

The march which was authorized by the Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) started in the morning at the Thuthukani robots. More than 100 community members were in attendance.

The march ended at Ebony Mall were the community issued a Memorandum to the property developer Andries Tlouyamma. Tlouyamma is a former Aganang SA Member of Parliament and is the property developer for the mall which is expected to open it’s doors during the latter part of the year.

The Memorandum, which KAE News has seen sets out demands to the property developer:

⁃ The Community is requesting an audience with all 35 tenants/shop owners to facilitate employment with the community.

⁃ Employment should not have age restrictions.

⁃ Developer should construct storm water drainage.

⁃ Security workers at boom gate should be employed.

⁃ Developer should rebuild the 4 houses near the Mall that have cracked due to the Mall construction.

⁃ 10% for Skills Development should be set aside as promised by the developer.

⁃ Centre Manager of the Mall should be from the community.

⁃ Cleaning company must be from the community.

The community have given the developer 7 days to meet the above failing which they have vowed that the Mall will not open until the demands are met.
