KAE NEWS AT IVORY PARK POLICE STATION

Yesterday, the 20th of November 2019, KAE News visited the Ivory Park Police Station. The station is the precinct that protects and serves the communities of Kaalfontein, Allandale, Ebony Park and surrounding areas.

We were welcomed with open arms by the Station Commander of the station Brigadier Ngcobo and we had a fruitful meeting with Captain Bernard Matimulane who is the Community Liaison Officer of the station.

The Ivory Park Police Station recorded the 21st highest number of murders on the 2018/19 financial year. A total of 106 murders were reported at the station. In terms of trio crimes (hijackings, house robbery and business robbery) the second highest number of reported incidents (567) in the country were reported at the Ivory Park Police Station from April 2018 to March 2019.

We seek a cooperative relationship with the station and will share crime trends, wanted suspects and more. The community is encouraged to play an active role in fighting the scourge of crime by participating in the Community Policing Forum (CPF).

Furthermore, The Department of Community Safety is prioritizing police cooperation in the delivery of Basic services:

Are the police officers at your local station helpful?

Did your case receive proper attention?

Any advice on how your Police Station can operate better?

What good things are happening on your local police station?

Are your local police doing a good job?

Help them do a good job by contacting 083 640 0116 (24 hours a day).

TOGETHER FIGHTING CRIME.
