The Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) has opened its 2025 late online application process for Grade 1 and Grade 8 learners. This opportunity allows parents and guardians to apply for available spaces at schools across the province. The late application window will run from 11 December 2024 to 30 January 2025.
This is the last chance for parents to ensure their children secure placement for the 2025 academic year in one of Gauteng’s public schools.
Key Information for Late Applications
- Availability of Schools:
• Only schools with available space will appear on the online system.
• Once a school reaches capacity, it will be removed from the list. - One School, One Placement:
• Parents can select only one school during the application process.
• Placement is automatic and final upon selection, ensuring no additional changes can be made after submission. - Document Submission:
• Required supporting documents (such as birth certificates, proof of residence, etc.) must be submitted to the selected school when schools reopen in January 2025. - Online Applications Only:
• Applications must be completed exclusively online via the official website. - Deadline:
• Late applications will close on 30 January 2025, with no extensions
