The Midrand Licencing Department has been open since it closed it’s doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the directions published by the Department of Transport the following deadlines have been set out:
–Motor Vehicle License discs, temporary permits and roadworthy certificates that expired during the period from 26 March 2020 up to and including 31 May 2020 were deemed to be valid until 31 August 2020.
–All Learner’s Licences, Driving Licences cards, temporary driving Licences and professional driving permits that expired during the period that commenced from 26 March 2020 up to and including 31 August are deemed to be valid until 31 January 2021.
–Motor trade numbers Licences that expired during the period 26 March 2020 up to and include 31 May 2020 are deemed to be valid for a period ending on 30 November 2020.
The Department of Transport says that no further extensions will be granted for those who fail to renew on time. Applicable penalties will have to paid by those who fail to renew on time.
