LETTER TO THE EDITOR: IVORY PARK RESIDENTS SUFFER AS SEWAGE CRISIS PERSISTS

“Dear Editor,

I am writing to express my deep concern and dissatisfaction regarding an ongoing issue in Ivory Park EXT 10 regarding sewage blockage for the past three consecutive months. As a resident and taxpayer in this community, I feel compelled to bring this matter to your attention.

For the past several months, there has been a persistent problem with sewage blockage. Despite numerous attempts to address this matter through other channels, the situation has not been adequately resolved. This has led to significant inconvenience and frustration for myself, my sick kids, my chronic over age father and many other residents in the area. The specific issue I have encountered include Backflows of sewage into our home that leads to unpleasant odours and unsanitary conditions and not to mention the exposure to harmful bacteria and pathogens.

This issue has not only affected the quality of life but also pose potential risks to the safety and well-being of the residents.

I understand that councils are responsible for ensuring the welfare of the community and maintaining the standards we expect. However, the lack of action or response from the council in this matter is deeply disappointing and has left us feeling unheard and neglected.

I kindly request that immediate attention be given to this issue, and I urge for your help in letting the council take prompt and effective measures to rectify the situation. It is essential that steps be taken to improve the overall service delivery of the municipality.

I would appreciate being kept informed of any actions or progress made in addressing this matter.“

We have contacted Johannesburg Water by email and phone call and have had no response thus far. We will not rest until the issue is resolved.
