LEVEL 3: SALE OF ALCOHOL ALLOWED
Today the 1st of June 2020, the entire country has moved to Coronavirus Alert Level 3. It is estimated that more than 8 million people returned to work including people who work in the alcohol industry.
As part of Level 3 regulations, the sale of alcohol is now allowed between Monday and Thursday between 09h00 – 17h00. No sit ins are allowed and alcohol can only be consumed at home.
In KAE, people queued for hours waiting to buy their favorite beverages. Liquor outlets like Spar Tops, Pick n Pay Liqour and Shoprite Liqour opened doors to the public following a 9 week ban. The outlets have set limits for the number of cases a customer can buy to avoid stock piling.
Pubs, bars and tarvens with liqour licenses can also sale alcohol for take away.
