LOAD REDUCTION DURING EBONY PARK SHUTDOWN
Eskom will implement Load Reduction in Kaalfontein, Allandale, Ebony Park (KAE) and surrounding areas of Ivory Park, Lindokuhle, Rabie Ridge and Tswelopelo tomorrow, 5 August 2020 from 05:00 to 09:00 in the morning.
The load reduction will be implemented as Ebony Park residents take to the streets to protest against Eskom’s unwillingness to repair or replace damaged transformers leaving hundreds of households in the dark for weeks. This will be the second load reduction in KAE this week.
KAE News has it on good authority that the load reduction schedule was changed by Eskom officials in the last minute to inconvenience the areas that will be demonstrating tomorrow.
The planned Ebony Park Shutdown will proceed as planned. Meeting point will be at Ebony Park Primary School at 5am. A WhatsApp text that has been circulating reads “Let’s come out in numbers to demonstrate as community to a PEACEFUL march in SHUTTING DOWN our Area”.
Residents are reminded to turn off electrical appliances during the load reduction to avoid power trips and failure of transformer.
