LOAD REDUCTION ON THURSDAY NIGHT

Eskom is expected to implement Load Reduction on Thursday, 1 April 2021. The load reduction is anticipated to last 5 hours from 17:00 until 22:00.

The load reduction is implemented by the power utility in high density areas and areas with high instances of meter bypassing and illegal connections to avoid network over loading.

Parts of Kaalfontein, Ebony Park, Ivory Park, Rabie Ridge, Lindokuhle and Tswelopele will experience a power outage as a result. Surprisingly, some areas do not seem to experience load reduction. Therefore, not all the above areas will be affected.

Eskom has not responded to our enquiries on how it determines which areas will be affected at the time of publishing.
