LOAD REDUCTION TODAY

KAE residents are advised that Eskom will implement Load Reduction in Kaalfontein, Allandale, Ebony Park (KAE) and surrounding areas of Ivory Park, Tswelopelo, Lindokuhle and Rabie Ridge today, 8 July 2020.

During the load reduction implementation, customers are urged to switch off all their electrical appliances to avoid power surges when power returns. Failure to do so may lead to transformer trips or failures and damage household appliances when supply is restored.

The electricity will go off at 17:00 and return at 22:00.

UPDATE: Eskom says that it is not able to access Ivory Park this evening, 8 July 2020, for essential operations due to a violent protest underway.

“This will result in an emergency outage to safeguard assets against overloading”

Technicians have since been withdrawn. The Ivory Park township along with Kaalfontein, Ebony Park and Lindokuhle were scheduled for Load Reduction today from 17:00 to 22:00.
