LORD KHANYILE HALL IN IVORY PARK NAMED NEW VACCINATION SITE; GOGOS AND MKHULUS ENCOURAGED TO GET VACCINATED
The Gauteng Provincial Government’s vaccination programme has received a boost with the launch of more vaccination sites. This will enable government to vaccinate more elders over the age of 60 years and health workers as part of Phase 1b and Phase 2.
A total of 25 new vaccination sites have been added to the current list taking the total number of Gauteng Vaccination Sites to 129 with 89 in the public sector and 40 being private. The new sites have been spread across the Gauteng Province.
Nearby, Lord Khanyile Hall in Ivory Park, Kanana Community Hall in Rabie Ridge and Midrand LA Emergency Medical Services in Halfway Gardens will be vaccination sites for City of Johannesburg, Region A residents. The vaccination sites will be open on weekdays from 07:30 until 16:00. The vaccination sites will allow walk ins and the Provincial Government has assured the public that “no person will be turned away from vaccination sites “.
The Province has vaccinated 184 191 Gogos and Mkhulus and 62 600 health workers since the inception of Phase 2 and Phase 1b of the vaccination programme. The youth is encouraged to assist elders above 60 years to register and get vaccinated. Getting vaccinated against COVID-19 remains one of the best ways to protect ourselves and loved ones. By vaccinating we can reduce the spread of COVID-19 and keep the economy open.
At the time of publishing, 187 people have passed away due to the Coronavirus in CoJ’s Region A which includes Ivory Park, Kaalfontein, Rabie Ridge and Ebony Park.
