A 44-year-old man was arrested for being in possession of a stolen firearm in Tembisa on Wednesday, 6 April.
The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) was following intelligence information about a man in possession of an unlicensed firearm.
According to EMPD Spokesperson Superintended Kelebogile Thepa, the firearm was stolen three years ago and officers also recovered eight live ammunition.
The suspect will appear in court for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
More charges may be added since the investigation continues.
