MAN STABBED TO DEATH DURING ILLEGAL ELECTRICITY CONNECTION ARGUMENT

A 32-year old man has been stabbed to death after a fight that emanated from illegal electricity connection between the owners of formal stands and the adjacent informal settlement in Kaalfontein on Sunday, 13 November 2022.

“The victim apparently came home from an outing and was told that some people known to them came and took out an electric cable, leaving them without power. The victim went to investigate, and came back immediately after as the person allegedly responsible for taking the cable was not found. Shortly afterwards another man whom the deceased had a scuffle with came back with a group of people and during the mix up the victim was stabbed once in the chest. He died at a local clinic a short while later,” said Captain Ben Matimulane, Ivory Park SAPS spokesperson.

The station commander of the Ivory Park SAPS, Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, has called on anyone who was there to come forward as this form of lawlessness cannot be left unattended.

“The killer should get his day in court and for the family of the deceased to get justice,” said Brigadier Ngcobo.

The police are appealing to anyone who has information regarding this incident so that the suspect can be brought to account.

A case of murder has been opened at the Ivory Park SAPS and the investigations are ongoing.
